Mainsail, Jib, & Jib Bag for Sale
Nate

Folks,

I have a set of sails that came with "Orion" when I bought her in 2007, and also a jib sail bag in fantastic condition.

  • Made by Skip Moorhouse of Moorhouse Sailmakers, New Jersey, this second-hand mainsail has #3133 on it, and it was originally used for racing. I had a sailmaker add sail slugs to the luff boltrope which allowed me to keep the sail attached to the mast when furling. Although it does not have as much drive as a brand new sail, it's in surprisingly good condition with no stains, intact stitching (including on the Mariner logo), and a clear window. Battens included (2 original, one replacement). $350.

  • The jib is a standard hank-on working jib made by Linthicum Sails of Audubon, New Jersey. This does have minor staining, but all the stitching is intact, the telltails are secure, and all the pistons on the hanks work just fine. $120.

  • The jib bag was made for me by Ameriseam Marine Canvas in 2006, and it allows you to keep your hank-on jib attached to the headstay (with sheets still attached) ready to go yet protected from the elements. It was darn handy and saved me a lot of time at the mooring each time I went for a quick sail. I only used it for one season before I switched to a furling jib, and it is in like-new condition - see one of the attached pictures showing it. $60.

Attached are a bunch of pictures each item, including one with "Orion" sailing with both the main and jib offered. I'm happy to send more pictures if anyone would like them. I would sell each one individually for the above prices, the main and jib together for $450, or all three for $500 even. You pay shipping.

I hope someone might be able to use them!
